MAKE THE HOLIDAY EXTRA SPECIAL WITH LETTERS FROM SANTA
The Collinsville Area Recreation District (CARD) has again teamed up with Santa Claus for the annual Letters from Santa program.
Each letter includes information about your child, their school and home life, as well as what’s on their wish list. What a great way to bring the magic of the season to life with a personalized letter from Old Saint Nick!
Each letter is $4 (postage from the North Pole is expensive!). Fees must be submitted to 10 Gateway Drive in Collinsville with the Letters from Santa form by Dec. 15.

BLOOD DRIVE ... December 3rd
PRESCHOOL STORYTIME is held on Mondays from 10:00 am - 10:45 am for 3 - 6 year olds Several books are read aloud, along with songs, fingerplays, and a craft. Parents or caregivers must accompany all children. Come join the fun

LITTLE ME STORYTIME will be held on Tuesday, December 8th from 10:30 am to 11:00 am. Little ones 9 months to 2 years old along with parents or caregivers can enjoy music, simple stories and playtime for this special lap-sit program designed for very young children.
AFTER SCHOOL MONARCH STORYTIME will be held Wednesday afternoon for 45 minutes . This is designed for children grades K - 3, but all ages are welcome. The Monarch Award is given annually to an author and/or illustrator of a book. Each week we will read one or two of the twenty nominated books and do activites related to that book. Dates are December 2, 9, and 16th
"BOWTIES AND HORN-RIMMED GLASSES: SENATOR PAUL SIMON AND HIS LEGACY" December 10th 7 - 9 pm Public Program and exhibit remaining at the library until January 21st
A traveling exhibit exploring the life and work of Senator Paul Simon will be coming to Tri-Township Library. The exhibit will be presented at the Morris Library at SIUC, Troy Public Library, the Winnetka Historical Society and the Benton Public Library. The related public programs will include lectures by U.S. Senator Richard Durbin, journalist Charles Klotzer, Chief Judge Abner Mikva, and Law Professor Sheila Simon. This exhibit was funded by a grant from the Illinois Humanities Council. Refreshments will be served.

MEET ONE OF THE NEWEST AREA AUTHORS, GINA MARIE LONG from 2:00 - 4:00 "UNKNOWN TOUCH" is her book just published and it's the beginning book of a series called "Werewolf Series" She will have copies of the book to sign, everyone can chat with her and refreshments will be served.
"FAMILY READING NIGHT "BEARS AND PAJAMAS" Monday, December 14th 6:30 to 7:30 pm
Please come in your pajamas, bring your favorite bear friend. There will be stories, crafts, prizes and refreshments.
LEGO CLUB will be held on December 15th, 3:30 - 5:00 pm...If you like to build with LEGOS, join with others as we explore and learn through a story and then build with the blocks. This is open to all Lego enthusiasts....any age. We will share our creations with each other and take pictures.
On-going is the Wrestlemania 26 Reading Challenge for grades 5 - 12
Please stop by and pick up the log. Read 10 items, turn in the log and be entered in the contest. Design a bookmark for reading and win posters, dvds and possibly a trip to WrestleMania 26 in Arizona in March 2010. Deadline to enter is in January .
