Children's Museum Seeing Stars

Starry, Starry Night is open to all ages, and admission is $4.00 per person. Groups of 10 or more should please RSVP to the Museum at 618-692-2094.

January also brings opportunity to favor your sweet tooth. The Children’s Museum will host its annual Sweet Adventure on Sunday, January 31, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and celebrate the Museum's opening in 2003. Visitors can learn how sweet treats are made and participate in crafts, activities and tastings of some of the Museum's favorite sweets. Admission is $5 per person or free for Museum members. CARD is Hiring

Get your team together for Co-Rec Volleyball!

For ages 16 and up. Games start at 6:30 pm on Thursday nights, February 18-April 22 at the Dorris Intermediate School, Route 159 in Collinsville.

Get your team together for a season of volleyball fun and competition. In this new league teams of six (with at least two men and two women on the court at all times) will compete on Thursday nights during two divisions of play. Matches will be officiated and include three games each week. Registration packets are available at the CARD Activity Center and at www.CollinsvilleRec.com. The cost is $180 per team (teams of six to 10 people).

Just want to play? Come to Volley/Basketball Night! CARD takes over the gymnasium at Dorris Intermediate School on Monday nights when school is in session to offer open volleyball on one side, and open basketball on the other. For ages 16 and up. Monday nights, beginning at 6:30 pm now until May 3. cost is $3 per person, per visit, pay at the door.

 

New Tumbling and Irish Stepdance classes

Tumbling is rolling to weeknights! CARD is now offering tumbling classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings! Parent/Tot Tumbling on Tuesdays from 5:15-5:50 pm, Beginning Tumbling on Tuesday evenings from 6-6:45 pm or Thursday nights from 5:15-9 pm, and Intermediate/Advanced Tumbling on Thursday from 6:10-6:55 pm.

Irish Stepdance classes for children age 6-18 years old begin on February 1. These evening classes are held on Monday or Wednesday nights for seven weeks. Classes to learn the Irish War Drum are held on Monday nights from 8-8:30 pm for children 6 years and over.

January 18 is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and the kids are off from school. Kids in first through sixth grade can join in School's Out Club and spend the day on a field trip to St. Louis where they’ll enjoy The Magic House, Cici’s Pizza, and Steinberg Ice Skating Rink.
