DESCRIPTION:Kayaking for a Day at Drost Park\n\n\nSaturday\, June 30\, 2012\nKayaking for A Day at Drost Park On June 30 at Drost Park Maryville Parks and Rec will again offer Kayaking on Drost Park with the help of kayaking enthusiast Craig Heaton of Collinsville and members from the Missouri White Water Association and American Canoe Association. This free event will be held from 12 noon to 5 p.m. at Pavilion #1 on the lake in Drost Park. The goal is to get more boaters on the water and raise awareness to the fun and relaxation of kayaking. A session will start every hour on the hour with an orientation of basic kayaking and safety issues. Participants will then be able to try out one of 20 kayaks on Drost Lake. There will be two tandem kayaks for an adult and child to share. Life jackets will be provided and safety boats will be on the water. Pre-registration is requested to balance out the attendance during the day and ensure that everyone gets time on the water. Please contact Barb at 618-581-4127.
