    Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join a growing team. Duties include:

    • Maintains general and subsidiary ledgers and financial records, prepares, and posts journal entries and performs account transaction analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with established guidelines and procedures.
    • Prepares monthly financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards.
    • Processes accounts payable transactions ensuring internal controls are followed, coding invoices with proper accounts and descriptions and printing of checks.
    • Prepares and files required financial reports for taxing and regulatory bodies.
    • Processes all month-end reports for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Inventory.
    • Prepares various financial reports for use by Management and the Board in assessing the financial status of the company operations.
    • Prepares and submits Purchase Orders to outside vendors when requested.
    • Processes and remits annual 1099s and related transmittals to Federal & State agencies.
    • Performs trending analysis and forecasts, data requests, systems design and implementation, and managerial reports. Prepares monthly Board reports.
    • May assist in payroll processing functions including entering timesheets, printing checks and generating required reports. Complete required tax, benefits and other withholding deposits. Also may assist in maintaining and updating timesheets to ensure proper coding.
    • This job involves work that generally requires the Accountant to work at least 2300 hours in a year. Moderate to low overtime required during non-peak seasons. High level of overtime generally required to complete year-end closing & reporting and audit during the months of December thru April each year.
    • Performs all other related duties as assigned by Management.

    • High school diploma and a four-year college degree in accounting, finance, business administration. A CPA or completion of the requirements for an advanced degree in accounting/finance
    • Experience in regulated utilities or telephone industry is preferred.
    • 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience working in an accounting setting.
    • Must have working knowledge of standard desktop computer hardware and software.
    • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • The ideal candidate will have a background in the functionality of telephone, internet, and video industry systems and possess excellent communication skills, solid organizational savvy, and a detail-oriented mindset.
