    Position Overview

    Since 1911, the Greater St. Louis Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, has been shaping future leaders through educational activities, outdoor experiences, and instilling lifelong values while having fun. We believe that supporting youth empowers us to build a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society. Join our team as an Office Assistant and contribute to the success of our program department. The program department is responsible for operating six camp properties, developing and leading youth summer camps, organizing training courses for volunteer Scout leaders, and facilitating large-scale experiences for youth members in Scouting programs.

    Responsibilities

    · Exceptional Customer Service: Provide outstanding customer service to colleagues, volunteer Scout leaders, families of youth in Scouting programs, and external customers. Efficiently manage help desk tickets, emails, phone calls, and in-person requests, ensuring timely responses. Demonstrate empathy, effective communication, and prompt resolution of customer concerns and issues.

    · Facility Reservation Management: Utilize the facility reservation system to make and maintain reservations for equipment, programs, and properties. This includes managing reservations for cabins, campsites, horseback riding, climbing, and more.

    · Accounting Support: Assist with the accounting procedures of the department, including reconciling fees and payments for facility reservations and handling money from activities and events.

    · Seasonal Staff Support: Manage records related to seasonal camp staff employees, ensuring completion of new-hire tasks, verification of training courses, confirmation of employment details, and other onboarding needs.

    · Website Maintenance: Regularly update company webpages used by the program department to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.

    · Administrative Duties: Assist with various administrative tasks, including copying, recordkeeping, reporting, filing, mail distribution, data entry, phone answering, providing information to coworkers and customers, inventory control, and other assigned duties.

    · Support Backup: Serve as backup to other support staff, assisting with responsibilities such as front/reception desk coverage, data entry, filing, and other duties as needed.

    Education

    · High school diploma or equivalent is required

    Qualifications

    · Professional, friendly, and helpful demeanor is essential.

    · Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and SharePoint, is needed.

    · Possess a range of administrative and office support skills, such as phone/switchboard operations, computer proficiency, copier systems, accurate typing with excellent spelling and grammar, etc.

    · Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects effectively.

    · Prior experience in similar or equivalent responsibilities is preferred.

    · Salary: $16.00 per hour

    · Schedule: Choose between a 5-day work week (Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm) or a 4-day work week (Tuesday-Friday, 7:00am-5:00pm or Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:00pm)
