  • Early Childhood Education Success Coordinator (Grant-Funded)

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Success Coordinator facilitates early childhood education students’ learning within the ECE program at Southwestern Illinois College’s (SWIC) Belleville Campus. This is accomplished by one-on-one time, group setting, and review of classroom material. This position interacts with students, staff administration, faculty and the general public at-large. It also involves information of a confidential nature. In addition to retention and persistence efforts, this position will also include recruitment of the incumbent workforce. Data gathering (student and employer satisfaction surveys) will be conducted as part of this role. This is a full-time, administrative position dependent upon continued grant-funding.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Workforce Education is recommended.
    2. Two years of Early Childhood Education experience is required.
    3. Experience teaching in higher education is required.
    4. Knowledge of Illinois DCFS 407 Licensing Regulations, Illinois Early Learning Standards, Illinois Gateways Competencies, and National Association for Young Children Competencies is required.
    5. Experience working with students and providing supports (academic, social, personal, etc.) to increase retention.
    6. Experience with grant writing, budgets, and financial aid recommended.
    7. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
    8. Must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to hire.

    STARTING PAY AND HOURS:

    Grade 2 on Administrative Salary Scale, ranging $44,675 to $51,310.
