Overview:
The Member Relations Manager (MRM) plans and executes a strategic business membership sales plan for the Chamber. The MRM identifies prospects, determines their needs, communicates the Chamber’s value and closes the sale. The MRM grows the Chamber’s membership by driving a sales strategy that projects the Chamber’s message/brand to all of our stakeholders. The MRM works closely with each member of the Chamber staff and the Executive Director but works independently and is responsible for the success of the membership sales plan. The Director must be able to conduct “high-level” business interactions independently and as part of a coordinated team.

Facilitating Chamber Investment Plan (CIP)
Identifying potential members through a sales pipeline
Developing membership processes and maintaining ChamberMaster
Building relationships with Chamber members through direct contacts
Organizing and scheduling some events
Managing staff and tasks that report to position
Promoting Chamber and telling our story
Performing general office duties
Responsibilities and duties:
Facilitating Chamber Investment Plan
Working with CIP Action Team to finalize a step-by-step process for implementing the plan
Creating a CIP worksheet from the plan
Identifying potential members through a sales pipeline
Develop pipeline
Developing membership processes for and maintaining Chamber master
Writing process for :
Potential members
New members
Membership retention
Dropped members
Barter members
Building relationships with Chamber members and keeping membership information updated through direct contacts
Contacting Chamber members for a variety of items – welcome calls to new members, initial calls to potential members, confirmation calls for meetings and events, follow up outstanding invoice calls, etc.
Organizing and scheduling events, meetings, etc. including:
Chamber Ambassador Meetings
Chamber Action Teams
Managing staff and tasks that report to position
Promoting Chamber and telling our story
Performing general office duties
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other relevant experience
Business/sales experience
Excellent verbal or written communication skills, including on the telephone, e-mail, etc.
Willingness to learn new software and database management programs
Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and maintain a working list for all items
Excellent typing and proofreading skills
Must be able to work independently, resourcefully and without constant supervision
Willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done – all other duties as assigned
Strong customer service skills with the ability to get buy-in from members and build relationships
Creative strategy development and initiative catalyst
Software/apps:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Willingness to learn ChamberMaster and Constant Contact
Skills:
Task driven by worksheets and able to balance several items at once
Exceptional customer service and willing to go the extra mile to assist members and the community

Other:
The Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce sits on the property owned by the Triad School District and the property is marked as non-smoking.
Chamber office hours are Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. but subject to change. Non-paid lunch is one hour. A total of 35 hours/week.
This position is very task driven and there are always multiple events being planned. The best applicant for this position will put 100% effort into the position.
Compensation:
Compensation is $15-$19/hour, based on experience. Employee evaluated in 90 days with potential increase in compensation based on 90-day goal achievement.
Position includes accrual of vacation days (2 weeks after first year) and personal days (2) and also paid holidays (12 days)
