Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
GED or High School Diploma required.
Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training required within the first three months of employment.
Previous experience in security or law enforcement preferred.
Experience in health care setting preferred
Must possess interpersonal communication skills in order to effectively resolve hostile situations. Ability to comprehend and fulfill requirements related to security procedures and hospital policies and procedures acquired through on-the-job training.
May be required to complete more advanced training in defensive and offensive techniques.
Ability to apply knowledge of patient rights, safety rights, safety practices, infection control principles, and risk management issues. Ability to follow polices and procedures of department and hospital. Ability to maintain a high level of integration, confidentiality and professionalism. Serve in committees and assist with programs of the hospital to constantly improve the quality of health care and promote good public relations. Ability to work in a timely manner, with the time allotted for the shift per census count.
Serve as staff specialist in security with responsibility for monitoring of organization-wide security program designed to minimize risk of human injury and property damage. Monitors parking areas and pedestrian and vehicular traffic in accordance with department and hospital policy. Contributes to meeting the mission and goals of the organization and all other applicable regulatory and/or accre4diting agencies. Responsible for carrying out the instructions of the Director of Security.
