Information Technology Services leads the University by providing a contemporary, robust, and secure technology environment in the support of teaching, learning, research, service, and decision-making.
Information Technology Services is seeking qualified and experienced IT candidates to join our team in the role of Applications and System Admin II.
Under general supervision, this position assesses the needs of clients and assists in the selection, implementation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of campus-wide systems. The Admin will work with IT help desk, clients, vendors, and other IT personnel to troubleshoot incidents, document issues and resolutions in ticketing system, and troubleshoot hardware associated with systems.
This position is responsible for replacing hardware components as needed, monitoring system backup logs, and monitoring SQL Database backup logs. Additionally, the System Admin will create and maintain basic workflows and scripts, work with vendors to install and maintain systems, and document existing workflows. This position documents system configuration and changes, handles service tickets requesting changes, processes Security and Access Requests. The System Admin may assign tasks to ITTA-ASA I and technicians as required.
Examples systems include but not limited to the following: Video Surveillance, Digital Signage, Curriculum Management, ID-card, Door access systems, vending, cashiering, document imaging, workflows, advising and retention (Starfish), Point of Sale, Textbook rental, Power Platform, IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, and mobile applications. These systems directly affect students, faculty, and staff in the use of information and technology to increase learning potential

1. Any combination totaling two years from the following categories:
(a) Progressively more responsible work experience in IT-related profession.
(b) College course work in Information Technology (IT), IT Management, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
60 semester hours or Associate’s Degree equals one year.
90-120 semester hours or Bachelor’s Degree equals two years.
In addition to above:
Additional 2 years of progressive experience managing computers or software packages in a complex IT environment.
2 years of experience (concurrent with other experience) with programming / scripting languages (examples include SQL, Java-script, HTML/CSS, Jquery, Python, Perl, Power-Shell, C#, MVC etc.).
Working knowledge of computer operating systems (UNIX/Linux, Windows, and/or MacOS) and peripherals in a networked environment.
Experience with the implementation, support, and integration of software/systems.
Ability to handle and resolve ticket-based requests and incidents without direction, while continuing progress on independent projects.
Ability to communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience.
Ability to act as lead on systems and assign tasks.
