    Network Engineer I

    Salary: $45,000 - $52,000

    Hours: Mon-Fri 8AM- 5PM Central- occasional overnight maintenance

    We are seeking a full-time exempt Network Engineer I to join our Network Engineering Team. In this role, you will be a contributor on the team of Network Engineers who are responsible for all network deployment projects, Connect America Fund network design, wireless access point and backhaul design, evaluation of all new wireless and GPON technologies, CPE standards, creating method of procedures (MOPS) for change management, capacity management of access points and network circuits, creating power standards, and maintaining the management network.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    • New Site Build design & Network Upgrade planning with an emphasis on Fixed Wireless technologies
    • Documentation of design projects
    • Coordination with NOC for network deployment projects
    • Product R&D with an emphasis on Fixed Wireless technologies & GPON
    • Develop Method of Procedure (MOPs) for routine maintenance
    • Work with peers to identify issues within the network
    • Quickly diagnose, prioritize, & troubleshoot internal/external issues
    • Work with Network Engineering Manager to ensure the Engineering team is adhering to improving processes
    • Other related duties as directed

    Job Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 1-2 years of educational or work experience in either wireless, networking, or GPON with an emphasis on design & planning
    • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, & message systems
    • Regular & predictable attendance required
    • Legally authorized to work in country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future
    • Must pass a background check & drug screen

    We are looking for someone who has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and who thrives under pressure. Wireless internet service provider or GPON experience is helpful but not required. Wireless certifications and/or entry-level Networking certifications are highly desired. The ability to prioritize customer satisfaction and deliver sustained high service levels is a must. Problem-solving, critical thinking and analytic ability is ideal. Our teams need exceptional organizational skills and are expected to demonstrate personal accountability.
