Mechanical Draftsman

Job Summary:  We are looking for a Mechanical Draftsman to join a growing team.  Duties include:

• Use computer aided design and drafting systems to prepare drawings
• Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, to create and complete set of fabrication drawings and specs
• Utilizes Word, Excel and nesting software in the creation and use of various electronic forms.
• Work closely with production planning to optimize design for cost and fabrication efficiency
• Work, coordinate and interact with vendors for the fabrication of parts
• Assist other functions as needed, such as purchasing, quality, customer service, and sales
• Working with and maintaining customer relationships

Location: Alton, IL
Position type: Full time, Evaluation Hire
Pay: $25/hr-$32/hr, BOE

Qualifications

• Associates degree, preferably in drafting and/or design is preferred
• 3 years of CAD and drafting experience is necessary
• Knowledge of mechanical drawing and design principles
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, shop floor docs, specs and electrical diagrams
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Positive attitude, detail oriented, team player, with ability to mulit-task
• Ability or knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Excel, Word, Outlook
• Familiar with machines, tools, equipment operation & capability
