Senior Shuttle Driver/Assistant

SENIOR SHUTTLE DRIVER/ASSISTANT

The City of Collinsville is searching for a part-time Shuttle Driver/Assistant for the City of Collinsville's Senior Shuttle Bus. This position works approximately 16 hours per week, but hours can vary depending on staffing needs.

The Senior Shuttle Driver/Assistant provides general shuttle bus services by picking-up and dropping-off residents within Collinsville City limits, maintaining communication with shuttle dispatch via a city-provided cell phone, keeping transportation logs accurate and complete with all required information, informing supervisor of any disruptions to service and notifying supervisor of any issues, inspecting vehicle for safety, coordinating fueling of vehicle and maintaining fuel records, maintaining a valid license and excellent driving record, cleaning Shuttle and reporting any supply deficiencies, assisting residents while entering and exiting the vehicle, and maintaining proper knowledge of emergency response procedures.

There is always a Driver and an Assistant on the Senior Shuttle Bus. Staff members are trained to be both the Driver and the Assistant and are scheduled to alternate between both positions.

REQUIREMENTS

• Requires a J Restriction to drive the Senior Shuttle Bus
• Adhere to safe driving practices and traffic law
• Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to exception customer service
• Follow the policies and procedures of the City
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings and/or afternoons
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to pass a DoT physical
• Ability to sit for an entire shift
• Able to drive for long periods of time
• Frequently stopping and getting into and out of a vehicle
• Able to communicate through texting, email, and employee scheduling software

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The Shuttle Bus Driver/Assistant position begins at $16.00 per hour.
