The Village of Maryville is currently accepting resumes for the position of Village Clerk / Administrative Assistant. This position will report to the Village Administrator. The position is responsible for maintaining public records, attending and taking official minutes of Village Board and Caucus meetings (which are held Wednesday evenings), Freedom of Information Act responses, ensuring compliance with the Open Meetings Act, is the local election official, responsible for maintaining & updating the Village code of ordinances. Additionally, this position will assist with various financial duties such as: bank reconciliations, preparing & recording deposits, serve as backup to the treasurer, coding & entering invoices for payment. The position will serve as an assistant to the Mayor as well as other duties & projects as assigned.
The qualified applicant will be very detail oriented, have excellent communication skills, maintain confidentiality, have an understanding of State & Municipal procedures. The applicant must have a strong bookkeeping background and be proficient with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word and Outlook. The right candidate will be very organized, self-motivated, able to work on and complete projects without direct supervision, meet regular deadlines, work with interruptions.
The position is full-time (40 hours per week) and includes health, vision, dental and life insurances, IMRF retirement plan, vacation and sick leaves, a voluntary 457b Plan is also available. The annual salary range is $50,000 - $65,000.
