JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES
The Registered Nurse carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable law. Responsibilities may include orientation of new employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Oversight for Emergency Department Technicians
WORK CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a fast-paced hospital environment. Work areas are well lit and climate controlled. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work area is shared. Work schedule may vary (including weekends, holidays and overtime). Working conditions require circulation of nursing personnel throughout the facility as needed for varying census.
PHSICAL ACTIVITY:
Extensive standing, walking, stopping, reaching; some sitting, pushing, pulling, lifting of medium to heavy weights required. Possible exposure to hazardous materials. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

SUMMARY:
Provides and/or supervises the delivery of quality patient care within the framework of the Emergency Department. Explains procedures and treatments to patient. Administers prescribed medications and treatments. Prepares equipment and aids Physician. Responds to life saving situations. The Emergency Department Nurse uses initiative, independent judgment, critical thinking and professional skills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care rendered.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and have a current Illinois license.
CERTIFICATION / LICENSURE::
Maintain certification of PALS and ACLS or obtain within the first six weeks of employment
Current CPR certification is required.
