This year, we will be featuring two highly accomplished professional flute players in a duet written especially for our band.
Laura Dwyer plays flute with the Sante Fe Symphony, Iris Orchestra, and the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra. She has also performed with the Palm Beach Opera, the Santa Fe Opera, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, and the Opera Theatre of St. Louis. She was Principal Flute of the Sarasota Opera for many years prior to leaving the position to teach flute at Jacksonville University and the University of North Florida. Laura was recently a featured soloist on Washington University’s Great Artist Series, the St. Louis Symphony’s Community Programs Series and a featured soloist with the Chamber Society of St. Louis. Laura teaches Flute at Maryville University, McKendree University and Jefferson College, as well as Saxquest.
Maile Signoretti graduated from McKendree University in 2015 with a dual degree of a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with a specialization in flute performance, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a specialization in criminal justice. In 2017, she graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with her Master of Music degree, with a specialization in flute performance. Maile has performed with many different prestigious ensembles, including the Eastern Kentucky University's Symphony Orchestra, the Eastern Kentucky University's Symphonic Wind Ensemble, the Lexington Community Orchestra, and the Firebird Chamber Ensemble. She has appeared as a student guest musician with the St. Louis Wind Symphony and she has also volunteered as a flutist for the Madison Community Band in Richmond, KY, the Belleville Community Band in Belleville, IL, and the Troy Community Band in Troy, IL. Maile performs professionally with the Edwardsville Community Municipal Band, the Highland Municipal Band, the Edwardsville Community Symphony, and the Alton Symphony Orchestra.
