Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or related field required.
Two years of successful college or high school teaching experience strongly preferred.
2,000 hours of documented work experience in Electrical, Motors, Controls or PLC outside of teaching, required.
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming and troubleshooting.
Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and OSHA standards.
Ability to deliver engaging lectures, demonstrations and lab instruction in electrical systems, controls, motors, PLCs, and related subjects.
Develop, update and maintain course materials to align with current industry standards and best practices.
Assess student learning through assignments, projects and hands-on evaluations.
Maintain a safe and organized lab environment that meets OSHA and institutional safety standards.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in the classroom.
Provide guidance, mentoring and career advice to students.
Remain current on trends and advances within electrical technology.
Prior teaching, technical training and curriculum development experience highly desirable.
